Food Drive

During the next two weeks, Helix School will be participating in a food drive.  The food collected will be taken to the Athena Christian Church community food pantry to be distributed in the Helix, Adams, Weston, and Athena communities.  The food drive begins Friday, November 4th and continues through Friday, November 18th.  Below is a list of food requested from the pantry:


Jell-O
Cake mix
Small bottle of cooking oil
Peanut Butter
Pudding mix
Pasta sauce (spaghetti)
Canned chili with beans
Canned vegetables (Corn or green beans)
Flour
Hamburger Helper
Tuna Helper
Cereal
Canned Tuna
Canned Chicken
Macaroni and Cheese

Community Feed and Open House

This Thursday, October 13th, will be Helix School's Community Feed and Open House from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Come enjoy a free dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs, stop in at the Book Fair, and visit your student's classroom from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  We hope to see you there!

Math with Mrs. Harlow

Yesterday, Mrs. Harlow introduced subtraction sentences to our class.  We had a great time working with our teams on our activity!  Check it out below-

Grandparent's Day

Tuesday, September 13th is Grandparent's Day at Helix!  Grandparents are welcome to come and enjoy lunch in the multi-purpose room with their grandchild at 11:10 a.m.  Please let me know if your student will be joined by a grandparent on that day by e-mailing me at emily.hansell@helix.k12.or.us.  Thanks!
